Do you stay in touch with them?** Aye, the Flamebleard clan, we're a close knit bunch. **What are your religious beliefs?** Like all good and respectable dwarfs I'm a follower of Moradin. **Do you have any famous ancestors?** My father be Thorin Earthshaker, who, with the siege of Kadrak, had the Axe of the Dwarfish Lords appear to him which he used to rain bloody death onto the minotaurs. Our keep was spectacularly destroyed as he brought the whole mountain down on the horde. A bitter sweet victory that shall be remembered for many generations to come. **What sort of education or training have you had?** I've been trained by my father in lore of elemental earth and stone. **Do you have a trade (other than “adventuring”)?** I've been a guardian of earth since a wee lad. **Do you have many enemies?** Minotaurs! Scum of the earth; the only good one is a dead one. <spit> **What style of clothes do you favour?** Stout, durable hide. **Have you ever killed someone?** No. Hold on... Do minotaurs count? **What is your opinion of the Lockenport authorities?** They seem a fairly competent bunch. Could use a few more dwarfs in their ranks though. ===== Letters Home ===== ==== Arrival ==== My fellow Reds, Our party finally arrived in Lockenport, and apart from that incident with the gnome and his boat our journey here was uneventful. Blaine and Boyd have found jobs at one of the smithies in town, and it seems that they are learning a lot of new things from forgemaster Undermountain. I am staying at one of the more affordable inns whilst earning my residency at the Irregulars, and whilst it may seem terribly untidy and disorganized to what we are used to, the food isn't too bad and the bed isn't too hard. If Moradin smiles I will be going on my first mission tomorrow. Send my regards to old Shamus and my love to mum, Angus [XP awarded 2011-05-01] ==== Festival ==== Dear Reds, Yesterday, with the crossing moons, the people of Lockenport had a great big festival here - a bit like the gathering o' clans, but with less food an drink. I couldn't celebrate meself really, as we had jobs for the Guild to do, but it was still a merry and memorable affair. So far work has turned out to be messier than expected; our last mission had us slop all over a swamp and yesterday we were knee deep in shytte. Still, it's good practice in the art, and I've already seen some pretty strange things. Even witnessed the walking dead with my own eyes. The twins are well and will probably write more once they tire of the wine, women and song (when not working). They are not doing badly mind, and master Undermountain seems quite impressed.
